This week, the Biden administration is expected to stop deporting illegal aliens convicted of drunk driving, illegal drug use, assault, money laundering, and fraud among other offenses. Per internal communications reviewed by the Washington Post,
While ICE’s new operational plans are not yet final, interim instructions sent to senior officials point to a major shift in enforcement. Agents will no longer seek to deport immigrants for crimes such as driving under the influence and assault, and will focus instead on national security threats, recent border crossers and people completing prison and jail terms for aggravated felony convictions.
“Generally, these convictions would not include drug based crimes (less serious offenses), simple assault, DUI, money laundering, property crimes, fraud, tax crimes, solicitation, or charges without convictions,” acting director Tae Johnson told senior officials in a Thursday email advising them on how to operate while new guidelines are finalized.
…“They’ve abolished ICE without abolishing ICE,” said one distraught official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because that person was not authorized to speak to the media. “The pendulum swing is so extreme. It literally feels like we’ve gone from the ability to fully enforce our immigration laws to now being told to enforce nothing.”
In and of themselves, illegal aliens are bad for the country. They break the law to get here. They engage in document fraud to work. They drive down salaries for American workers and take their jobs. They have kids here and use them to collect welfare. Some commit crimes against American citizens. On top of all that, it’s illegal for them to be here at all and the penalty for their crime is deportation. Now, not only are we not going to deport them for being here illegally, we’re going to welcome them with open arms if they drive drunk, get high, and engage in fraud. Is there a shortage of drunk drivers in America? Do we not have enough fraud? Do we need more money laundering? Are wages too high? If you hate America and want to undermine it from within, there are few things you can get away with that are more destructive to the country than promoting illegal immigration. Joe Biden’s efforts on that front are a disgrace.
