President Donald Trump immediately ended his press conference talking about the violent rioters on Monday by walking out of the front door of the White House and walking across the street to the church that law enforcement officials say was deliberately burned last night by violent extremists.
Trump walked to the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church after someone set a fire in its basement last night while violent rioters were out front stealing an American flag from the church and lighting it on fire.

Once he reached the church he stood with officials from his administration and held up a Bible while talking to reporters and taking photos.

“D.C. police said a small fire was deliberately set in the basement. Under police escort, D.C. firefighters quickly extinguished it,” The Washington Post reported. “Fire department spokesman Vito Maggiolo said the blaze did not appear to cause any significant damage.”
The Daily Wire reported last night that Fox News correspondent Kevin Corke was the first to report on the fire as he led his camera crew over the church to show viewers what was going on.
“Unfortunately, I can add just a moment it does appear that St. John’s Church is on fire, the Parish office,” Fox News’ Kevin Corke reported live on air. “We went downstairs, and it is on fire.”
“This is awful,” Corke continued. “We saw graffiti, once the door was broken, we saw something similar happen earlier and as you can see there’s definitely a fire here.”

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence and current U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell praised the move, writing on Twitter: “The President of the United States @realDonaldTrump has just walked from the White House to St John’s Church where rioters set fire last night. Trump announced during a press conference prior to leaving the White House that he was putting an end to the violent rioters that have struck mostly Democrat-controlled cities.
“I am taking immediate presidential action to stop the violence and restore security and safety in America,” Trump said. “I am mobilizing all federal resources civilian and military to stop the rioting and your Second Amendment rights.”
“First we are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now,” Trump said. “Today I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled. If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will quickly deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”
