Has there been a single anti-Trump hit piece that the media pushed that didn’t turn out to be false?
The entire Russiagate saga was bogus. The Charlottesville “very fine people” story was a deliberate and immediately debunkable hoax. The Russia/Taliban bounties story was always unsubstantiated. That story the Wuhan lab leak theory was discredited was anti-science. The “expert consensus” that Trump wouldn’t be able to produce a COVID-19 vaccine within a year proved how little experts know. The “kids in cages” hysteria was political theater – and those are just some notable examples. The list goes on and on.
The latest story to be confirmed as nonsense was that Trump had rioters (or as the media describes them, “protesters”) cleared from Lafayette square with tear gas for a photo-op in front of St. John’s Church. A recent Inspector General report confirmed that Trump didn’t order police to clear anything, and that police didn’t learn of Trump’s potential plan to walk through the park until hours after they planned to clear it.
The DC Park Police themselves said in a statement after the incident over a year ago that they cleared rioters from Lafayette square because rioters were throwing projectiles at them – not because it had anything to do with Trump. The media conveniently ignored that fact disproving their narrative until the IG report came out.
And in light of reality, Black Lives Matter just lost a lawsuit against Trump over the clearing of rioters. According to The Post Millennial:
Charges that were brought against President Donald Trump over the clearing of protestors from Lafayette Square over a year ago have now been dropped by a federal judge. Trump, along with Attorney General Bill Barr, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper, were charged with using crowd control measures to clear the park to enable a photo op in front of the vandalized St. John’s Church.
US District Judge Dabney Friedrich ruled against Black Lives Matter, dismissing claims that the Trump, Barr and Esper directed a conspiracy targeting black protesters. Law enforcement used non-lethal crowd control measures to remove the protestors, and Trump was blamed for this.
“Merely alleging that the defendant officials communicated, without alleging any details of those communications that suggest an unlawful agreement, cannot justify inferring the requisite agreement” for a conspiracy, Judge Friedrich ruled.
The judge continued by arguing that “Here, the management of possible violence, enforcement of the impending curfew, and policing of demonstrators in Lafayette Square in advance of the President’s travel across the Square generate ‘obvious alternative explanation[s]’… for the defendants’ communications and activities other than having formed an agreement to violate the plaintiffs’ civil rights.”
Now: A judge ruled Black Lives Matter DC and others can't sue Trump, Barr, and other federal officials involved in the clearing of Lafayette Square last summer (except to challenge ongoing restrictions to the area); claims against DC + Arlington survive https://t.co/wSnRyaVIkc pic.twitter.com/FblWTSYDoW

The lawsuit failed, but for millions, the bogus narrative will live on.
